Ancient Murrelet that was found by Eddie Rose in his yard on the west side of Yakima, WA, as it was pushing itself across the snow, penguin-style, after having been blown across the Cascades by the storm on November 26, 2006. Photo taken Nov. 27, 2006, as the murrelet swam in our bathtub.

Ancient Murrelet #2. We are hoping to release it in Seattle at Myrtle Edwards Park on Nov. 28, 2006. More photos to follow, hopefully. This is the third sighting for of Ancient Murrelet in Yakima County, the second being Nov. 20, 1951, in an irrigation ditch near Mabton. The first one, found Nov. 15, 1950, now resides in the collection at the University of Puget Sound.
