This photo of the sun shows the large sunspot (at the top of the sun) that caused the magnificent aurora borealis shown in the other photos in this folder. To take this photo, I aimed my spotting scope at the sun, projected the image onto a piece of paper and took the photo with my iPhone. A very low-tech way to photograph the sun.
