Northern Harrier with a starling it had just caught on the south side of Sunnyside, WA. A Red-tailed Hawk swooped down moments later and stole the starling. January 15, 2004.

Immature Northern Goshawk found on the north side of Toppenish Ridge on the Toppenish NWR Christmas Bird count. Brian Wheeler, author of several fine books on raptors of North America, said the field marks to look for are the thin, white edges along some of the dark tail bands and the extensive pale mottling on the body.
