Western Tanager with a caterpiller it had just picked off a branch of an oak tree at Fort Simcoe, Yakima County, WA. This suggests the tanager might be nesting at Fort Simcoe, which is away from its preferred nesting habitat in coniferous forests. June 14, 2006.
